Today is #HeadspaceDay so I thought I’d take a moment to have a quick ramble. To all my beautiful followers out there I just want to remind you that what you see on social media is the “Showreel” to life.. the glamour, fun, festivals, travel and happiness! Often the “behind the scenes” can be different. I wanted to share a few things that have helped me when I’ve been down. I personally struggle with anxiety and these little tips have had a positive impact on me. 1. Learning to not compare yourself to others, there is enough room in the world for everyone to have their slice of success, empowering others and doing good things for other people is more rewarding and grounding than jealousy and comparison. It’s not a race. 2. Working out consistently and daily. This effects my moods significantly and releases stress. 3. Meditation/Saunas and Hot Yoga. I use @headspace daily. 4. Eating a diet low in sugar and cutting out the drinking. Eating clean, good fats! lots of vegetables and healthy food. 5. Communication- this is key, and something I only learnt recently. It’s okay to not always be okay. It’s ok to let people see your vulnerabilities. The more you communicate with friends/family/psychologist the better you feel. I swear. You’ll be surprised to learn how many people are also having a rough time, support and honesty and open discussions are soooo healing. 6. Finding something to get you out of your own mind, I love podcasts, music and going to the cinemas also cleaning.. clean space clear mind. 7. Checking in with yourself when you’re feeling good and acknowledging the good days. ➰ I hope this helps anyone who may be struggling or feeling down. The world feels kinda scary at the moment so we all need to be responsible for our own decisions and try be the best versions of ourselves. Make loving and kind choices towards yourself and others. Things can turn around quickly and if we continue to remove the stigma attached to mental health issues we can all move towards a happier, healthier and more compassionate future.
