We decorated the tree tonight. I love revisiting our ornaments, all the memories. My friend @hmorrall gave me the one with the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Indianapolis dressed up for the season as the World’s Largest Christmas Tree! I made the little plaid teddy bear for our first married tree. Then there’s one of many @maryengelbreit ornaments which remind me of the friends who gave them or the times when they were bought. And finally, our own quirky tradition, the Christmas lizard! It’s just not the holidays till it’s on the tree!
I tried the King Arthur #bakealong tonight. Super easy with a big payoff! I always bake something for the neighbors for the holidays & I think this might be it. I split the dough in half & made two smaller stars (instead of one big one) which are well-sized for my neighbor’s small households.
Playing with Christmas cookies tonite. The crazy bird cutter came from my grandma & the Scottie is from an antique shop in Indiana. The other two, the squirrel & the hedgehog, came from IKEA. The outlines were made with King Arthur’s Simple Cookie Glaze but the cookie itself came from an old cookbook I have. When something wins your trust, you stay loyal. I’m pretty pleased with how these turned out! I’ll make more! #christmas#cookies#antique#indiana#squirrel#hedgehog#ikea#kingarthurflour
