I don’t typically post anything other than all things design, however, tonight it is with a heavy heart that i have a post of a different sort. Yisroel Levin A”h was a dear dear friend of my son. They met at 9 years old when yisroel was newly introduced to the class and was randomly assigned the seat adjacent to my son. Well, as we know nothing is random and as they say the rest is history. They remained close throughout elementary, high school, mesivtah and bais medrash. Yisroel had a magical magnetic personality, a zest for life, was extremely intelligent, caring, warm, humble, compassionate, funny, a tremendous baal midos, with a gift of making everyone who came in contact with him feel special. How happy he was to be a Chosson, he was positively glowing when he spoke about his Kallah Elisheva Kaplan A”h. Tragically, their lives were cut short in a horrific twist of fate.
The funds collected by the Chesed Fund (click on link in my bio) will be secured for the Yismach Yisroel Chosson Fund. This fund is to outfit deserving chossonim with dignity for their special day, enhancing their simcha and alleviating some of the financial burden of the parents. It will be run by a group including mothers whose sons were friends of Yisroel (myself included) who simply cannot stand idly by and have an aching need to turn this tragedy into something somewhat positive. Hopefully, we can reach and help as many Chossonim as possible, for as long as possible. We hope to make Yisroel proud.
