Third and final day of fishing with Ben. We went back to the drawing board as we didn't want to blank our final days fishing together. Originally we were going to fish Witherington Farm lakes as I've never blanked there but it didn't feel right and was too easy. So we decided to go back to where we feel is our fishing home, the river Avon's Britford L.A.A fishery. My father taught us both to fish here when we were young lads and in the building behind us in the photo is where one of my earliest memories is always remembered. I always get a bit sentimental/ emotional visiting this place. Moving on... We tried for Pike/ Perch via drop shotting and lures but absolutely nothing. So we changed it up. We still had a box of maggots so we used them on this old Eel hatch and propped our rods up on some sticks Ben carved out. Cracking job too as shortly after I was into our first fish in 3 days!!! It was this lovely Trout! We were so happy! We ended the day on 2 fish each. 1 Trout and 1 Bullhead each!! An old chap we saw fishing on our walk back home said to us "Bullheads are a sign of a very healthy river." Which of course makes me very happy that the river is thriving. To round these 3 days up I've really enjoyed the laughs Ben and I had and fish wise it was all worth the cold in the end. Absolutely love this photo. πŸ˜„πŸŽ£

Fishing with Ben, Day 2. 6/1/2017, 1300. Chesil Beach. Our target species was Cod. We spent a few hours here whilst the tide was highest and had zero luck. We then moved on to Portland to fish off the rocks for the hope of the odd Wrasse. Zero luck this day too. 2 blanks in 2 days for us was disheartening but spirit was still high with Ben and I. We were doing everything right and a huge part of Fishing is the company and being out in nature. Special thanks to @chesilbaitntackle for the great customer service and advice. πŸ‘πŸŽ£

This was taken at 0815, 05/01/17, Britford. My cousin Ben came over from Ireland for a week. We spent 3 days fishing and this was the beginning of the 1st day. It was -6c first thing on this morning. I had 3 layers of thermals and a layer of waterproofs. I was still freezing and to top it all that day we didn't catch a thing. We were aiming for Pike. πŸ™ˆπŸŽ£

A rare close up.

I hope that everyone makes the best of 2017. The past year has been frustrating and difficult (due to my Ulcerative Colitis) but made so much easier due the incredible support and love shown to me by a certain few. My main aims for 2017 is to reduce my carbon footprint, practice minimalism, fish more and explore. Also improve my health by more regular exercise and diet by eating gluten free foods and less meat especially processed meat.
Most importantly there's too much hate going on in the world. Be kind to each other and always remember your best days are yet to come. 😘❀️

This beauty and I hope that everyone has an awesome Christmas and New Year. 😎😘❀️

Hangs with beautiful people. 😘

As I lay here at 2am listening to Leonard Cohen album after album I get inspired. I have to write more, explore more. Just create more. I miss this place. ❀️
