Wall Facing Hip Taps

Have you ever wanted to handstand walk? Learning how to shift your weight from side to side on your hands is a key skill in order to learn how to walk in your hands. Wall facing holds are also a great way to learn proper handstand alignment. If you can't get your hand to your hip as in this example you can start by simply marching the hands one at a time off the floor. Then move to Shoulder Taps next. Then hips.

One of the fundamental hanging core/Ab movements. Mastering this movement is really important before progressing to more advanced hanging movements. Here are some tips to help you understand proper positioning and moving well.

In the first example there are few bad things happening. Scapula isn't down and back, there's excessive anterior tilt (arched lower back), the core isn't engaged, the feet aren't together, and there is momentum being used in an inefficient way to raise the knees. All of these are BAD. Stop doing this.

To perform GOOD reps keep you're feet together, toes pointed down, quads flexed (legs straight), scapula down and back, head neutral, and control the raising of your knees not only on the way up but on the way down as well.
