Armed with only a photo and white-knuckled fear @lukegholloway headed for the unknown. We paddled to the far side of Glacier Lake towards these huge drops. I’m no boater, but Luke is, with 10 years as a river guide, 40+ rivers and 100s of Class 5 drops I trusted him with my life and it was incredible to see him functioning in his element. Luke trusted me to stay in the boat and stick every paddle stroke he called with 110% effort. There was no other option. We were hundreds of miles from anyone or anything, just us and our one boat, Angelita Azul, at the end of 5 weeks of boating and rock climbing. 10 miles of Class 5 water lay ahead. We were tired and worn out but we threw down, stomped lines, dropped big waterfalls and completed the (we believe) first raft descent of Britnell Creek. 100 more miles and we arrived at the impressive Virginia Falls. We starved for a day while waited for our pickup, and then flew out of the mountains, concluding a trip I will never forget. .
