Dave Lomas  Pastor of Reality San Francisco. I wrote a book once. This is the only camera I own.

This is Reality. This is my family. Reality Carp, SB, Ventura, LA, Stockton, SF, Boston, London, Honolulu. RDNA Staff & Leadership Retreat 2017.

Yesterday we installed Kevin Cooke as an elder @realitysf His dad came in for the occasion who is a Minster outside of D.C. There was some wisdom being dropped between these two last night. Thankful to have such a great man on our eldership team and staff. His candidacy was not easy but he finished strong.

2016 tried everything me and this girl had in us and we came out the other side more love than ever before, almost like we're in high school dating all over again. Very thankful that Jesus knew what he was doing when he paired us up (aka when when she kept calling me and hitting on me as a freshman when I was a junior πŸ™Š).

After one of the most emotionally exhausting and in ways depressing Sunday's in memory, today's slow round of 🏌 was so good for my soul. It was one of those days where on the 15th hole I was sad the round was coming to an end.

We went to the snow. And by that we mean it was around us and set the scene as we were mostly inside enjoying the company of our Community Group

On a day retreat on the other side of the bay to pray and plan for next year but I'm just so exhausted from 2016 all I can come up with is: love Jesus more. Maybe that's enough πŸ€”

Reality Lead Pastor retreat, we prayed, we debated theology, we shared some pain and comforted one another, we sang and shared long meals. These are some great guys. From top right: Reality LA (Jeremy), Reality Carp (Britt), Reality Boston (Al), Reality Stockton (Christian), Reality London (Tim), Reality SF (me), Reality Honolulu (Ryan), Reality Ventura (Dominic), Reality SB (Chris)

Last night I got to met Chance the Rapper. Slapped his hand, shared a bro hug and then I told him I was a pastor in the City and that I've used his lyrics in my sermons. He said thanks for bringing the good Word and to keep doing it. It was cool and worth waiting in a line for 2 hours with people half my age. Felt like a kid again accept that my back hurt from standing that long.

Mornings in Carpinteria, Ca. I'm here all week and it feels like coming home. Moved here in 2007 to do our church plant residency and ministry detox before moving to SF to start Reality SF. Fun fact, Reality Church started here in 2002 (or 2003, I can never remember and @tarikelansary usually corrects me). Teaching at Reality Carp Sunday, I've been looking forward to it for months.

Andy Crouch's lecture and Q&A last night on power and injustice was πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

So this happened tonight. A proposal at our Sunday evening gathering. Carlos called me and said, "I haven't proposed but Crystal knows about the ring and knows I signed up for the premarital class, so the only way to really surprise her is to propose at church in front of our community." I said, heck yes.
Crystal was in my youth group in Bakersfield and I've been so impressed by her life and their relationship. I brought him up to give a testimony about dating and signing up for the class. No one knew he had not yet proposed. At the end of the announcement he said, "I signed up for the class but I haven't proposed yet, Crystal can you come up here?" People.
It was so fun to be a part of.
Congratulations Carlos and Crystal!!

Today @johnmarkcomer taught an important sermon in the life in our church that we'll spend the next year unpacking and living into. I'm so thankful for his gifting and friendship
