I started my Sabbatical yesterday and will be shutting off the digital part of my life for a while. If you need us, hire a PI to track us down in Europe. You can read about my Sabbatical by the link in profile
It took 7 years but I did it, I got Ash on stage with me! We gave the benediction together, a blessing over the church before our Sabbatical. She read Eph 3:20-21. Then (in the second pic) I acknowledged the "more than I can ask or imagine" happened in the fact that she is standing in front of hundreds of people with me. That's when she tried to hide and told me to wrap it up. She's the best. We love our church and so thankful we get to take a little break.
Summer reading list time! You gotta pick up this book from my dear close good friend John Mark Comer. This book is as if AW Tozer's book The Knowledge of the Holy and Rob Bell's What We Talk About When We Talk About God had a love child rebelled against her parents! 👊🏽
This is long over due but my friend Kate Merrick wrote a phenomenal book on "defiant joy in the depths of suffering". It's called #andstillshelaughs and I recommend it to everyone. When Kate was blogging through the loss of her daughter, Ash and I would read it crying, encouraged and hopeful in Jesus...and then we would look at each other and say, "she needs to write a book." I'm glad she finally did. Go get it and read it.
Easter at the Opera House. Wow, another amazing year. I'm so floored by our staff and volunteers, our church who brings their friends and family and by the presence of God that faithfully shows up when we gather no matter where we gather. #realitysf
