Gear Tip: Trekking Poles
Okay so I was pretty damn stubborn for a long time and refused to buy hiking poles. Eventually I gave in and I’m soooo happy I did! They are essential to hiking, especially backpacking.
They make the 50lb+ load on your back just a little easier to carry up those gnarly Sierra elevation inclines. You can wrap duct tape around them for emergency situations (ie. Makeshift bandaid or shelter). They give you an extra level of balance on sketchy terrain and/or river crossings. And lastly, they might just save your life...like fending off a bear attack or whatnot.
Overall, trekking poles are advantageous for an outdoor adventure! (*Mine are @blackdiamond ) #happyhiking 🤙🏻
