J.B. Ah Meng is popular for its JB San Lou Meehoon, White Pepper Crab, Salted Egg Prawn Roll, and Fried Fish Head.
So it was not listed in this year's Michelin Bib Gourmand, but fans say "It's okay." Just wondering, if you were a restaurant owner/chef, would you rather
a) get a Michelin star/Bib Gourmand just once (then lose it for whatever reasons) OR
b) not get it at all in the first place

Deep-Fried Soba with Sizzling Seafood Spicy Sauce. In ramen-popular Singapore, it is about time that SOBA gets some attention.
Nadai Fujisoba Ni-Hachi, Japan’s number one soba restaurant, has quietly opened in Singapore at 100AM Mall Tanjong Pagar.

The crispy Soba is my recommended must-order, and the highlight of the meat.
A plate of fried soba would be presented to your table, with a separate piping-hot pan of prawn, squid, kamaboko fish cake, pork, shitake mushrooms, beansprout, cabbage in gooey savoury sauce.

Not familiar with this brand of coffee, and CBD is full of cafes. But was pleasantly surprised with both the art and taste.
Skill fully made, had a lighter smoother take compared to many coffee places around in the CBD - which tend to be stronger and more acidic.

Amazake is an alcohol-free beverage made from fermented rice, said to be a 1500-year-old Japanese culture. How unusual and bold to have an Amazake concept in Singapore, considered a rather niche market.

I ordered a Matcha ($5) and saw the serving mixing matcha powder into the concoction. Okay lah.

Verdict? It wasn’t quite what I was expecting, and so I didn’t enjoy the drink very much.

The matcha taste was possibly insignificant, and it got moderately heavy after a few sips.

I have waited for a long time for “The Bird” or “Yardbird” to arrive in Singapore. News stated its coming since about a year back, the hoarding up on The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands for many months.

Of course the Southern style Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken is the highlight, cooked with a 100-year old recipe. The chicken would be brined for 27 hours before mixed in a medley of spices such as paprika, cayenne pepper and garlic powder.

Not bad, not bad, quite juicy and tender.

There was a tiny level of disappointment. ”Is this it?” The waffle unfortunately was the let-down. Not as crisp on the outer layer as expected, but at least the pieces were fluffy.


In need of good coffee especially coming back from Australia. The struggle was real, and I was glad to have found actually-decent coffee at Brawn & Brains Coffee Run.

This is a small coffee place, targeted at mainly takeaways with limited places for seating.

Ordered this cake because it was in my Favourite Colour. BLUE of course.
The inside was so wonderfully delicious, really liked the blue berries. #dfdsydney

Well, since many friends asked me how it was, here's my take. Okay only lah. What do you think?

Taste wise, I was expecting more. Not everything worked.
However, it is a positive move to incorporate local cultures into the existing menu. Hope there is more to come - healthier versions of course (McFlurry was too sweet). Kudos to the marketing team. You cannot avoid seeing the Nasi Lemak Burger everywhere on the Facebook feed.

Now I feel like having REAL Nasi Lemak 😂
