Somedays you walk from TriBeCa through SoHo, Washington Square, Flatiron, Midtown and beyond to reach the pond in Central Park and experience what the distance of 3.7 miles really feels like.
Our office building had some issues with its water. It was coming out of the tap brown and not safe to drink. The reality is that 663 million people don't have access to clean and safe water. In fact, women and children in Africa and Asia walk an average of 3.7 miles to collect water and the source isn't even clean. Those numbers are hard to wrap my mind around. ⠀
So today, I wanted to give myself some perspective and experience what it's like to walk for 3.7 miles in the summer heat, from our HQ in TriBeCa to the pond in Central Park. I documented it all over on @charitywater's Instagram Story if you want to see more 💛
