Nathaniel Prophet Judge Williams, Sr - my granddad - met his Heavenly Father this Saturday. I'm grateful that he lived 87 years and had a chance to see grandchildren and great grand children. At 14 years of age, grandpa took over his family farm and became head of household after his father had a debilitating stroke. He later served in the Korean conflict, sent 5 children to college, went to the same church for 50+ years, was married to my grandma for 61 years, worked at the RJR cigarette factory for 30+ years and instilled Hard Work and Faith in all his children, grand children and great grands. He was the patriarch of the family and exemplified what it meant that family takes care of each other. Remember him picking me and all his grands up after elementary school, middle school and junior high school every day during our childhood. The conversations we had about life, faith and forgiveness still stay with me. He and grandma made sure we were in Sunday School and Church on Sunday where he faithfully led the spiritual choir with call and response songs for decades. He came to plays, graduations and even got a DVD player to watch my movies. He was always supportive and encouraging of my dreams. Granddad loved his grandchildren and I'm thankful he was part of my life. Love and miss you always granddad! Thank you!
