When @kyliejenner announces she no longer uses Snapchat, and stocks plummet 1.6billion dollars!
Kylie was an early adopter of the app, driving millennials in droves- snapping away every moment of their existence! Brands caught on...and so did Instagram. With live features, stories, highlights and more- Instagram feeds brands what Snapchat did, but to an audience that is already built, craving unique, real, in the moment content. It will be interesting to see what happens next. I never was a huge fan of snapchat- however adopted the app as part of our strategy. It is essential to stay on top of the trends, and who better to notify us than the Kardashian/Jenner brood.
I feel as though with Instagram gaining more authority and power, it will become more "costly" to reach that audience our businesses depend on. Looking forward to discussing this topic more on CBH.
