Practicing yoga is one of many methods I choose for training and movement. On #InternationalYogaDay, I thank the practice for what it's brought to my life.

It slows me down when I can't seem to stop moving too fast.
It pushes my boundaries of movement beyond what I think is possible.

It teaches patience.
It teaches kindness.
It teaches presence.
It teaches awareness.
It teaches forgiveness.
It teaches acceptance.
It teaches love.

Yoga is fluid, malleable, and ever changing. Yoga is part of my life. And my life is part of yoga.

I am not a "yogi" but I love knowing that the mat is always there for me.

🚨 CAUTION 🚨
Speed will kill you here. Make 100% sure your wrist, elbow and shoulder joints are stacked in line on top of the ball. Otherwise, you're asking for an injury πŸ’€!

Keep your core engaged and hips high and move fluidly through the progression. Go for max reps on each side.

It helps if you use a softer surface, too (I wouldn't recommend doing this on wood or concrete).

Bonus points for the push-up between reps!

I've experimented with breathwork and meditation for the better part of the past 6 months.
β€’
Conclusion (so far): When I consistently (at least 3 days in a row) give myself 20 minutes to settle into my breath, my ability to focus on what matters throughout the day significantly increases.
β€’
But the days when I don't feel like I have 20 minutes to pause, I still try to give myself 1-2 minutes of solid breath work.
