A new school year is around the corner, so we’re partnering with @childrenshomesociety of Florida to get foster kids in our area the supplies they need. We will have this donation box next to our front door for the next week. And this Saturday and Sunday we will be giving everyone who donates a this-weekend-only cookie made just for y’all (or brownie?!?). .
Here’s a bit about Children’s Home Society- Founded in 1902, CHS aims to break the generational cycle of abuse and neglect through three key program focus areas: Prevention, Intervention, and Community services. Locally, our Northeast Florida office serves more than 3,000 children and families every day in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns counties through more than 20 programs including case management for dependents in foster care, Community Partnership Schools working to provide services for children in four local area public schools, outpatient therapy, and adoptions.
Typically, we see 30-40 children who come into care each month for services, which is always a concerning number. So we have to be ready to equip them with all the necessary supplies, which include school supplies!
