Conducting a hoist snatch is largely about managing risk. The three sources of risk are the patient, the cable, and the aircraft. The patient won't keep their arms down, the cable raps around your neck, the aircraft starts drifting over your head. Managing risk doesn't have to be reactive, prepare for it! Wrap the patient up every time, always control the cable, and keep eyes on the aircraft. Patient, cable, aircraft. Keep calm and have a great weekend.
