Cody Klein - Team 1st Phorm  #IAM1STPHORM 🇺🇸Make Fitness Great Again🇺🇸 CodyKlein@1stPhorm.com

This photo right here captures exactly what I love most in this world. The first two things I think about in the morning, and last two things I reflect about when I lay my head down before bed. I adore and love @paulaciarniello and my pup Theo. I’m a happy man and very thankful.

These two guys have kept my ass getting up before 5am the past 3 weeks! I can’t wait to get back on the early morning workouts with @jack_celeslie and @jeffery_alan, Vegas is a blast but I love my routine. Little EMOM session is gonna have to go down on Monday!

My inflight reading material to Vegas. Just need to know how to avoid all the taxes on the 💰💵💰 I’m gonna win in Sin City!

“Creatine doesn’t work, it just makes you bloated and puffy.” - One of the most common misconception about a supplement I’ve heard over the last 12 years working in the supplement industry.
🔹
Creatine monohydrate is probably the most researched and proven effective supplement on the market. Do a quick google search (use google scholar to get credible resources) and you’ll learn that yes, creatine will cause you retain a little more than usual, but this occurrence is intracellular...which is a good thing! This allows needed nutrients into the cells and waste products out of the cell. So the next time someone tells you that creatine is hyped and doesn’t really work and just bloats you...fact check his/her ass!!!😜
🔹
Now for the science part📚🔬
🔹
When creatine enters the body it firsts binds with a phosphate molecule to make creatine phosphate. Just so we are on the same page here, ATP (adenosine tri-phosphate) is the body's energy source. Our bodies breakdown protein/carbs/fat, in order to produce ATP. ATP is the energy responsible for almost every single biological process... so it’s pretty important🤣ATP does this by hydrolyzing (the break down of compound by chemical reaction with water.) a phosphate group. When a phosphate group is hydrolyzed, energy in the form of heat 🔥is given off and this energy is used to drive the task being performed. A great example of this would be a muscle contraction. Because one phosphate has been lost from the ATP, it is now called ADP (adenosine di-phosphate). Now you have an ADP as a product from the ATP hydrolysis.
🔹
Now ADP is pretty much garbage and really isn’t used for anything else in the body unless it is converted back into ATP. This is the part where creatine monohydrate supplementation kicks in! Creatine works because it ends up donating a phosphate group to the ADP to make a new ATP molecule. By adding creatine to your training program is allows for more ADP to convert back to ATP. Which will ultimately increase your ATP stores, thus allowing you to push yourself harder in the gym and force a few more reps out during the training session.

9/11... a lot of people today will put a post up saying “#neverforget” or “remembering all those lost”, and of course, giving thanks to our men and women in uniform. These are 100% things that should be said today... but our question to though is, are you living a life to honor all those that have been sacrificed for our freedoms?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Can you look yourself in the mirror and say that? That’s what we do here at #1stPhorm.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We are constantly self evaluating and asking ourselves:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Would the men and women, who gave up their lives from the result of this day in history, be proud of what we are doing on a daily basis?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s how you honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s how you, as a civilian, fight back against terrorism.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s what being in the #LegionofBoom is about.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Doing the most you can with the freedoms you’ve been given, is what being an American is about.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We love you guys, and we hope you take a moment today to get honest with yourself and ask, “Could I be doing more? Am I honoring those brave men and women who have fought and are still fighting to protect me?” #iam1stPhorm #supportourtroops #september11

Had a blast at @crossfit51 over the weekend. If you are ever in the Tulsa Oklahoma you gotta stop in and check them out. This box is absolutely massive and Nizam and Michelle are great people and will make you feel more than welcome! Thank you again for having us out this weekend.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
🇺🇸
I remember standing up every morning in grade school and facing the flag a reciting these words. Back then I didn't give much thought to the words and figured it was something they "made" us do. Today I reflect on the great country we live in and how I'm thankful for everyone who serves to keep our freedoms possible!
🇺🇸
I proudly stand for the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance!

Can’t wait to get back to @secretsmaroma It was such a great vacation last year we are gonna go back. 🐚🌴☀️

No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch. This is a great reminder that everyone starts somewhere. It doesn’t matter when you start...it’s just matters that you did! That’s the first step. Now go dominate! 1 day at a time. #dowork

What I love about Sunday’s...first getting to spend a little more time with @paulaciarniello and Theo. I also love getting my week planned out. Which includes writing down some tasks for the up coming week and prepping my meals for the week.
-
Prepping my meals before hand keeps me on track with my diet during the week. I have had a tendency in the past to say... I will prep my meals after work on Monday and that never happens... so I end up eating fastfood or whatever I can grab quickly. Not always the best choices.
-
This week on the menu is lean ground beef patties🍔 and lean spicy chicken brats🍗off the grill. Gonna be a great week!

Trust me on this one, you don’t need a fully equipped gym to get a great workout in. Just grab two kettle bells and go to work. No joke, I would say that my first real kettle bell workout was tonight. I only got through 10 rounds of 10 clean and presses with them and I was cashed. #duespaid

If you want the best results the answer is simple... Take a proper post-workout. If you are only taking protein right now post workout, then I’m sorry, but you aren’t going to see the best results possible.
💥
When we consume carbs, our bodies store them in our muscles as glycogen to be converted to ATP when we need energy. When you lift, you deplete yourself of much of that glycogen, and your body is designed to immediately replenish that energy source post-workout.
💥
So if you only give it protein, then your body will actually convert THAT into glucose, and store it as glycogen instead of using it to repair and build up the muscle. Of course, I take @1stPhorm Phormula-1 (a rapid assimilating, 100% hydrolyzed whey isolate) post workout, but what I add in addition to that is a very simple carb source.
💥
I used to reach for candy after training until 1st Phorm developed superior product years ago... Ignition. Ignition is a pure dexanhydrous glucose - the fastest assimilating carb there is. It will provide a huge insulin spike, actually 6x greater than other sugars (your gummy bears and pixie sticks can't hold ignition's jock) and shuttles the Phormula-1, directly into the muscles.
💥
This is just a quick little dirty run down on post workout recovery. If you have any questions, or would to like to dive into further detail, feel free to reach out to me personally at CodyKlein@1stPhorm.com.
💥
I would be happy to go through recovery or answer any questions that you might have! #iam1stphorm #recovery #phormula1 #ignition
