It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of fruit and vegetables, even though I know how important they are for my overall health which is why I have always supplemented with a multivitamin.

A multivitamin alone doesn't cut it though. Yeah I take fish oil too, but the truth is I'm well aware that by not eating any greens or fruits I'm still missing out on a lot of extremely vital nutrients that would make me feel a lot better if I focused on getting more of them.

I am not the kind of person who can wake up at 4 o'clock in the morning to get to the gym. Especially if I stay up anywhere past 9 o'clock at night… So lately it has been challenging for me to make it to the gym during the week, when I have been working on my house every day after I leave the office.

Fortunately for me though, there is a pretty decent little gym at Paula's apartment complex that has enough equipment for me to get the job done. Decent number of dumbbells, a few machines like cables, lat pull down, leg extension/leg curl, and cardio equipment.

I'll probably be the first person to skip the gym when I'm spending so much time between the office and working on this house, but I have to stay consistent now because I've locked in this vacation that we are taking in November. If I can make time to get a workout in 4-5 days a week, I know most everyone can... it just boils down to prioritization.

No matter what your goals are NEVER change them! Things might get hard at times and things will happen...stay focused and increase the effort to reach those goals!

If you want the best results the answer is simple... Take a proper post-workout. If you are only taking protein right now post workout, then I’m sorry, but you aren’t going to see the best results possible.

When we consume carbs, our bodies store them in our muscles as glycogen to be converted to ATP when we need energy. When you lift, you deplete yourself of much of that glycogen, and your body is designed to immediately replenish that energy source post-workout.

So if you only give it protein, then your body will actually convert THAT into glucose, and store it as glycogen instead of using it to repair and build up the muscle. Of course, I take @1stPhorm Phormula-1 (a rapid assimilating, 100% hydrolyzed whey isolate) post workout, but what I add in addition to that is a very simple carb source.

I used to reach for candy after training until 1st Phorm developed superior product years ago... Ignition. Ignition is a pure dexanhydrous glucose - the fastest assimilating carb there is. It will provide a huge insulin spike, actually 6x greater than other sugars (your gummy bears and pixie sticks can't hold ignition's jock) and shuttles the Phormula-1, directly into the muscles.

I have been trying to juggle a few extra things on my plate as of late. Between working full time at 1st Phorm, working on a house flip, getting a another house ready to move into, and planning a vacation. It's been a little more difficult to get all my cardio in. So I've been trying to incorporate a little more high intensity interval training (HIIT) to help my fat loss before vaca. HIIT training can be more effective and more efficient than slower paced “aerobic” style training, and it's convenient when you are on a time crunch. Below is a quick HIIT step mill workout that I have been adding into my routine.

20 minutes and I'm out! I warm up for about 5-7 minutes or until My knees and legs feel loose and ready to go. Typically this is at a level 3-4 so real slow and steady to start. I do not count this as part of my workout, I'm just trying to get loose and mentally preparing myself.😜Now that I'm all warm I start my workout in this order.

-3 minutes at Level 4-5
-5 minutes at Level 6-7, here I'm already sweating my ass off😫
-this is where the mental strength comes in and I have to really focus on completing the workout.
-1 minute on 12-14
-1 minute back on level 2-3
-1 minute on 13-14
-1 minute on 4-5
-1 minute on 14-15
-1 minute on 6-7
-1 minute Max Effort
-1 minute back at 2-3
-1 minute Max Effort
-3 minute back at 2-3
