Speaker - ILESHA (CoCo)  #Speaker #Diversity Trainer #Believer Keynote for your event 😊 Igniting the mindset, message & mission of women leaders Let’s #UnleashYourImpact ZPhi💙

Whenever I get ready to embark on something big - something that requires a bigger leap, a deeper investment of self, a greater measure of faith - I start to feel all the feels! Anxiety, fear, doubt, imposter syndrome, all start to percolate. (Please tell me I’m not alone!) ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ But I know that’s just part of the process of purpose. It’s ok to experience those feelings and it’s ok to not have all the answers, but it’s not ok to allow that to keep you from moving forward. Feel it and do it anyway!!
One strategy that I use is to remind myself that all of those feelings are just indicators that I’m in the game doing the work. People who are just spectators on the sidelines never get to know what it’s like to put it all on the line and go all in!
How do you keep pushing forward when fear and doubt and uncertainty surface??

Ever since I was a little girl, deep down inside, I felt . . . different. I never quite fit in. I was always a little bit unique. .

I marched to my own drum. I danced to my own beat. The tune to which I skipped was a bit irregular, maybe a bit odd, when compared to those around me. And I knew, with certainty, that I was created for something . . . BIGGER!

But I never knew what to do with those feelings. They were exciting, but scary, too. So over time, I stopped talking about them. And I began to conform. I made it a point to never stand out. I played it safe – colored inside the lines. Did what I was told to do – went to school, got a solid education, and then secured a good job. But one day, I realized that I wasn’t fulfilling my purpose and decided it was time to create my own path because I just couldn’t (+ didn’t want to) continue being less of me. It was time to write my own story. And that was the day my. whole. life. changed!

You. You can relate, can’t you? For a long time you’ve been marching to the beat of someone else’s drum. For a really, long time. But now, something in your life has started to shift. You’re ready to live fully in your purpose (’cause life’s way too short not to!) .

You feel it stirring deep inside of you. Your mission. Your message. Your greater legacy. Your story.

And you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s chat about how I can support you.

The look when you’ve just become the Duchess of Sussex and you recognize the significance since the first Duke of Sussex was a “rebel” who got married twice to unapproved women and who also vocally supported the abolition of the British slave trade, Catholic emancipation and political reform.
Well played, Queen Mother. Well played. .

A #fridayreminder for all of us. In this #instaculture it can be easy to forget that good things take time. Stay the course, my friend. Though it may tarry, wait for it.

Yesterday’s #diversity and #inclusion talk was good, ya’ll! Took me 8 months to secure the gig (very conservative investment company) but it was a full house of employees in the room.
Got to share part of my own story of being a young, Black, female school administrator (like the day one of my parents asked me if I was simply an Affirmative Action hire 😳) Some folks are just crazy!
Looking forward to continuing the dialogue with their employees and helping other companies to build bridges and great an environment of belonging. .

It’s ok to rest. Just don’t give up.

Our faith must develop feet, so we can walk it out!

Just in case you thought otherwise ....

This is not about you. I’m not checking out what you’re doing. I’m not competing with you. I’m not trying to outdo you. I’m not even focusing on you. ‘Cause this right here is Kingdom Work. I don’t have time for anything less.

It's time for you to RECEIVE. You've been patient long enough. You've remained strong through many trails and challenges. Nothing broke you. You still here standing strong. It’s your turn. It’s your time. Something you've been working on is finally about to pay off. Never worry, stress, or overthink how everything you're trying to manifest or waiting to receive will happen for you. Just believe that it will. Believe in it.
Now it's your turn to start receiving blessings and it is about to happen for you. Things are getting more clear. The answers you need are arriving. In the meantime, celebrate and smile like you've already received everything you have been asking for.
There's great power in believing what you can envision in your mind, not really in what's happening in front of you. Everything that can happen for you, starts with a single thought. You have to believe in it till it shows up.

Comment if you're GRATEFUL and are READY to RECEIVE.
Tag someone to inspire. ✨🙏✨

Great things happen for those who aren’t afraid to be great! Don’t let fear hold you back from unleashing your greatness into the world. Someone is waiting for you and your gifts to show up!

Want to know how to bore your audience and turn them off right from the start? Open your talk by introducing yourself (this applies to live and virtual events). ✨

Truth be told, your audience doesn't really care about your credentials (and if you're on a live stage, you were likely already introduced, so now you're just being redundant). So, stop it!

Here's what you can do instead . . . open with something that's actually going to grab the interest of your audience right from the start. Ask an interesting question (like I just did on this post); share a startling statistic (did you know that only 30% of entrepreneurs make more money than they would in a salaried job?); share a brief, emotional story (and brief, means brief); even telling them what you're going to tell them is better than opening with your bio.

And a bonus tip is to ALWAYS have your intro committed to memory. You want to start your talk by looking at your audience, not your notes.

Now, go be great!
