😢😢😢Cobb County mourns the loss of a veteran firefighter who died yesterday after responding to two calls.
Firefighter Stacey Leigh Boulware, age 44, collapsed on March 12 at Station 5 in Vinings after returning from back-to-back incidents that included a full arrest and a vehicle accident. Earlier in the day she had successfully completed the department’s annual physical agility test (PAT). She was transported via ambulance to Kennestone Hospital but passed away after resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.
Firefighter Boulware began her fire career June 28, 1999. She had been a longtime member of the Cobb County Fire Hazardous Materials Team and served at several different fire stations during her distinguished career. In 2015, Stacey received the Firehouse Magazine Heroism award along with the Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services Firefighter Cross for heroism in rescuing a trapped occupant from a well-involved apartment fire.
Arrangements are pending arrival of family from out of state.
We extend our thoughts and prayers to the family of Firefighter Stacey Leigh Boulware during this difficult time.🙏🏾
