This is our friend Tom. He and his wife Sally work with Jersey cows (like Pumpkin here) to bring us (and you) the most deliciously buttery, grass fed, beyond organic milk around. They deliver it themselves, twice a week, to Coat Check and our companion shop @providerindy


One of these days we’d love to organize a farm visit for our staff and guests - let us know at the bar if you’d be interested in a field trip like that!


Baklava Croissant •
This Saturday @IndyGirlsPintOut presents Coffee, Beer and Donuts at Indianapolis City Market.  We have teamed up with TwoDEEP brewery and will be pairing our delicious baklava croissant with a Tinker Coffee saison.

I love the otherworldly color and earthy flavor of beets, and have been glad to see they’re having a moment lately. Their flavor, nutrient density, and intensity of color remind me of another favorite - turmeric. Both pair beautifully with ginger and chili de arbol. Many of you are familiar with our Golden Milk - I’d like to present its seasonal second act. Fresh beetroot and ginger are macerated and pressed in our tabletop wine press to produce this reduction, with a half pound of each represented in every 500ml bottle you see at the bar. •

We have an exciting coffee to share with you on the Slow Bar tomorrow morning. @baristajobi will be brewing @blackwhiteroasters Gesha Village Natural Lot 6 by hand in the 120 year old ticket booth at the entrance to our shop. Coffees of this variety have been the darlings of specialty coffee for a few years now, and we’re beyond excited to offer this one. Natural process, floral, tropical fruits, berries, honey. 🌺🍯🍈 •

We’re excited to welcome our friend and frequent guest, artist @robertaavidor to the gallery at the Athenaeum. She’ll be exhibiting works for the month of September, starting with a kickoff this Friday from 6-9! We’ll be supplying some tasty snacks and refreshments •

Our friends Austin and Dylan from @tinkercoffee will be joining us this Friday morning, brewing coffees by hand for you from 9am-noon in the 120 year old hand carved wooden vestibule at the Athenaeum. Ethiopia Kellenso and Kenya Mutheka will be on hand. The Kellenso is a ‘honey process’ coffee, a method of removing the seed from the cherry that falls somewhere between the two most common processes - washed and natural - and exhibits some of the flavor elements of both. Notes of maple, watermelon, peach.
