Clodagh Dunlop  I had a brainstem stroke 6 April 2015 leaving me with locked in syndrome. I'm fighting to rebuild my life. I'm working to run again. Watch this space.

This lady is amazing! Tricia and I have met through illness. She supported the event today, bringing along friends. It was a huge challenge for Tricia but she crossed the finish line. Tricia has an incurable brain tumour but is determined to remain happy and positive! #warriorstogether #braintumour #brainstemstroke #lifeisprecious #enjoyeveryday #appreciatethelittlethings

Walked one mile today without my stick! First mile outdoors post stroke! I was slow but so happy to have completed it unaided. It was more challenging than any half marathon I ever completed but I feel I worked harder for the medal at this finish line! I was supported by my family at the Step out for Stroke event and we have raised £665 for the Stroke Association.

Just love these little faces! Step out for Stroke on Sunday 20 May 2018. The girls are so enthusiastic about raising sponsorship! #stepoutforstroke #strokeassociation #brainstemstroke #beatinglockedin #youngstrokesurvivor #familyiseverything #howcutearethey

My family are supporting me on Sunday at Antrim Castle Gardens where we will 'Step Out for Stroke'. It's not too late to sign up to join the event or you can show your support by visiting my just giving page. Thankyou to everyone who has sponsored me. The Stroke Association helps support stroke survivors like me to regain independence after stroke.

Battling with high tone/spasticity in my affected arm. My hand and arm are fighting so much with my splints, they refuse to loosen or straighten some days! #spasticity #lifeafterstroke #brainstemstroke #saebostretch #beatinglockedin #clyde #minatureschnauzer #hewantscuddles

I have got more family members to join me for this years step out for stroke at Antrim Castle Gardens, Sunday 20 May. There are lots of different venues throughout the UK. I'm asking you to register yourself to walk with us or you can show your support by donating a small amount on my just giving page.

You can walk at your own pace and in your own time and all routes are approximately one mile in length and are wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Your pet can join you. Whether you walk just a few steps or a full mile, you will be doing something inspirational to help conquer stroke and make a difference to stroke survivors and their families.

Last year I walked one mile with an aid, I'm aiming to walk as much of the mile this year without an aid, which will be a huge challenge.

Hen party fun tonight. Might seem not a momentous first but to be able to be independent when my wingman is across the Atlantic feels like a huge achievement #independent #feelinglikesummer #henparty #lifeafterstroke #beatinglockedin #strokesurvivor #strokeawarenessmonth

A few months ago I took part in a project to reshape stroke services. Raise awareness stroke happens to younger adults, misdiagnosis almost cost me my life. #youngstrokesurvivor #raiseawareness #togetherwecanmakeadifference #may #strokeawarenessmonth

Birthday cuddles with my girl! Cake and candles always make me smile #anotheryearolder #birthdaycake #maydaybaby #bestfamily #feelingloved

I feel like I did a duathlon today! went for a cycle then a 20 minute walk after on the treadmill. I've gone from running at 13 kph in 2015, taking steps at 1 kph which felt too fast in 2016. Now I can walk at 3.6 kph. My right side is improving slowly but I have no movement below my knee. #slowlygettingthere #duathlon #homegym #selfbelief #iwillrunagain #nevergiveup #beatinglockedin #brainstemstroke #strokerecovery
