It took my hands awhile to stop shaking after this one. πŸ™πŸ€˜

This fish really wanted this fly, unfortunately so did a tree on the far bank on the very next cast. RIP little black and pink intruder, you were a good one who served me well over the last two days. πŸ’€πŸ™

Bull trout don't come much more chromed out than this guy right here. Such a great day on the river today with the boys. πŸ‘

Sometimes it's so nice out you don't even mind if you don't see a single fish all day.

Kyle, on his second day with a spey rod, throwing bombs to the far bank.

The winter is an amazing time to be on the water. Way less people means you don't have to work as hard for a bit of solitude, and even if the weather can be rough, and the fishing slower than other times of year, it's still one of my favorite places to be.

Quick set of Rainbow Warriors to start the year off with some color.

This is my first tie I'm somewhat happy with, and probably the seventh or eighth total. Too much dubbing still, and a terribly uneven wire wrapping on the back side, but it'll fish.

Winter is coming, and I can't wait for some steel. #tbt

This day was the first taking out a new rod and reel, and this was the first pool of the day, 15 feet from where I'd parked. Second or third pass through with a big, black stonefly and this big rainbow hit and had my rod doubled over and my reel singing within seconds. I wish I had gotten a better picture, but this ended up being the only usable screenshot I managed to get in my scramble to stick my filming phone into the top of my waders while trying to get this fish into my net. Thankfully the memory of this day will live on vividly in my mind for quite some time. 🐟

Went for an early morning run with some friends a few days ago.
