Tender lamb balls evenly marinated and peppered with mediterranean spices, this Lamb Kofta really impressed me. The bed of cous cous and crunchy almonds atop greek yoghurt provided very different textures to the dish so everything came together perfectly! .
Reward for surviving through Monday? NOT. I will eat this any time, any day! Love these light as air Churros from @salttapasandbar. Although I wish they can be a tad more generous with the cinnamon sugar, and have their Dark Choc dip a little thicker, I will still highly recommend this resto for one of the best churros around. Digging their Raspberry & Rose Jam! .
I suspect I’ve already had a premonition of the World Cup winner cos hey, croissants and pastries are very French, aren’t they? 🤭. .
A little hidden gem of a bakery at Empress Mall which I would really like to keep a secret but I just can’t. Croissants here are one of the most exquisitely “flakered” (flaky + layered) you can find out there without having an overbearing buttery taste. If I had the stomach for everything here, I would actually get one of everything. For now, here’s just four items for breakfast. I will be back soon for the rest of you guys 😋 .
You know the right choice to make when you step into a hawker centre and see one stall with a snaking long queue with both locals and expats. AND the locals are not young hipsters wanting an Instagram shot of a pretty plate of food but they are uncles and aunties who know exactly what they are ordering. .
VERY LEGIT DUMPLINGS AND CHAR SIEW. In fact, I feel the Char Siew is comparable to Char’s, except with mostly leaner cuts. The dumplings are freshly made every day. Filled to the edges, the juicy, slightly peppered minced pork oozes out with every bite. I’m impressed! .
Char Siew that has seemingly swam through a pool of sweet juice, with meat so tender and very well-balanced between layers of soft fats. They slide easily through to my tummy and in fact, so easily that I forget how much I’ve already eaten and continue picking up piece after piece 😋 .
🍔 Mentaiko Millefeuille Katsu Burger ($16.80) + Har Cheong Gai Burger ($14.80) + 🍝 Grilled Chicken Pesto Pasta ($16.80) - Tough decisions every time I get to a place where I want everything! Which would you choose out of these three? And yes, the Har Cheong Gai Burger here definitely beats the chix out of Macca’s any day! .
If anyone is looking for dinner or weekend brunch inspiration, why not head on down to @grubsingapore to try their new 🍔 Mentaiko Millefeuille Katsu Burger ($16.80)! Think crisp batter enclaving juicy thin layers of pork with mentaiko cheese, further topped with mentaiko sauce. Each bite is such a delight! .
