Tickets are on sale through Thursday, February 15 for the State of the City Presentation and Luncheon, themed Reinventing Bellflower. The luncheon will be held on Thursday, February 22 at The MAYNE Events Center located at 16400 Bellflower Blvd., Bellflower. Learn about the resurgence, revitalization and redevelopment that’s taking place this year (especially in the Downtown). Doors will open at 11:00 a.m. and the program will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Tickets are $20.00 per person and are available for purchase at Bellflower City Hall (16600 Civic Center Dr.) and the Simms Park Administrative Office (16614 Clark Ave.). Tickets must be purchased on or before Thursday, February 15. For more information call (562) 804-1424, ext. 2267.

The City of Bellflower Parks & Recreation Department is now hiring! Currently hiring Recreation Leaders and Lifeguards. Benefits Teen Leaders will gain from the LEAD Program:
• Volunteer work experience in the Parks & Recreation department
• Complete qualified hours that count for volunteer/community service hours
• Attend multiple workshops where Teen Leaders will learn valuable information useful in school, home, job atmosphere and life after graduation • Obtain relevant material to add to future job resumes
• Exposure to a team atmosphere, build leadership skills and have useful resources provided for success

Attention all junior high and high school students, ages 13-17! The City of Bellflower is offering a new volunteer job training program that provides work experience and educational workshops to all high school students in the surrounding area. The LEAD Program was created to help teens gain work experience in the Parks and Recreation Department. The LEAD Program also provides many resources to help students become fully equipped for life after graduation. Stay tuned this week for more social media posts about our new and exciting LEAD Program!
