Learn a little about the inspiring women behind the #WeAreAllHumanity campaign.
In 2017, a particularly brutal outbreak of violence began in the Kasai region of Democratic Republic of the Congo, triggering the internal displacement of some 1.4 million persons and the flight of over 34,000 refugees into Lunda Norte Province in northeast Angola. Congolese refugees arriving in Angola spoke to our friends at @refugees of government forces and militias deliberately targeting women in some of the worst gender-based violence the region has seen. Photographed by our friend @gilesduley for the HUMANITY Issue N12 cover story, these women tell their stories through a series of powerful portraits.
Let their stories inspire you to join the movement. When you do, Citizens will donate $10 to the @usaforunhcr, a non-profit organization helping refugees survive, rebuild and recover. Each post has the power to make difference. In this time of need, stand with us as we stand together. #WeAreAllHumanity
