Here, I wanna tell you my favorite story. It's not a bedtime story that I'll just share to my children later on, this is a lifetime lesson.
Story about The Prophet Musa Alaihissalam in front of the red sea.
Allah shows us in this story, He compares and contrast the reaction of different people to the same exact external event or obstacle.
When Musa Alaihissalam was going to escape Firaun, there's Firaun's colony behind. Musa and his people were stuck between the red sea and super power army behind them.
When the two groups we're seeing each other, the people of Musa Alaihissalam said, "Indeed, we will be over taken" QS As-Syuara:61
And that's a very natural reaction to being stuck in front of the red sea with the super power army behind you.
But I wanna tell you something amazing. That the reaction of Muda Alaihissalam in that exact same situation, His Bashira (heart) is focus on something else.
He said, "No way. Indeed Allah is with me and He will guide me through this" QS As-Syuara:62
The reason why I love this story so much is because it's a sign from Allah that we gonna put into situation where we feel trapped, that we don't see a way out.
We gonna be put in the situation that all things look impossible.
But Musa Alaihissalam taught us something, he was able to see beyond that all.
Because his focus wasn't in the problem. His focus was on Allah.
And when Allah is with you, you don't have to worry.
And what strikes me about this story is he didn't even know how to get out of the situation and yet he didn't worry even he didn't know how.
It's easy for us to say, "I got problems but I know how to handle it because I got plan A, B,... Z."
But when we don't have any idea how it's gonna happen but you still put your trust in Allah and that's tawakkul.
Than you will say, what about doing our part?
And the reality is what so beautiful about this story was that although obviously Allah Is gonna safe him, Allah still asked Musa Alaihissalam to take action. He asked him to do something, to take his stick and hit the sea.
We are still asked to take an action because Tawakkul and action aren't separate.
We work and at the same time we put our trust in Allah.
