Putting on the whole armor of God so I may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. We need to be actively seeking Christ. Every day we are made new. Each day our eyes open is a chance to turn it all around. An opportunity to surrender our lives to His will. I choose Christ. I choose to follow Him, but am aware that my flesh will fight me on this.
After reading Mark 14, this morning, I couldn't help feeling sorry for Peter. When I used to hear about Peter denying Christ my response was, "I'd never do that." He thought the same! All of the disciples claimed their faith yet they all fell away until he rose on the third day. "You will all fall away," Jesus told them, "for it is written: "'I will strike the shepard, and the sheep will be scattered.' But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee." Peter, after he denied Christ three times, wept bitterly. Oh Peter I feel you, brother. How broken he must have been. To know truth, to claim it and to still stumble and fail. Life! May God continue to guide us and renew of faith, hope and love. Giving us an abundance so we may pour into others. And, may we all weep bitterly when we fall short, convicted and seeking forgiveness. Our Father hears our cries and knows the position of our heart. Be blessed and encouraged all you brothers and sister in Christ!
