Finishing a book is not a hard stop, until it is: 2nd pass of THE PARIS DIVERSION’s typeset pages, finished-finished. I won’t be changing another comma; hope they’re in all the right places.

My kids are 2300 miles south of me; my wife is 3100 miles east. But this guy is sticking just a few feet away.

These unaccompanied minors of mine are on this plane bound for another country; I’m waiting in the terminal for liftoff, a new type of loneliness.
