My training time is where I go to WORK πŸ”₯πŸ’ͺI put my headphones on, zone in and focus. I stare at that woman staring back at me in the mirror and I egg her on, dare her to work harder, push further than she did yesterday. I build her up to give her the confidence she needs, I promise to never break her down because negativity serves no purpose in my training game plan or in my day to day life.

One of the first things I ever learnt from competing is to never compare myself to anyone else and more than that, just how pointless it really is. It's like comparing my finger print to yours ☝️ we all know how much of a waste of time that would be.

Whether its aesthetics, muscles, bone structure or personality, theres no point comparing πŸ™…πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ Someone might have great shoulders but they havent got your waist, great quads but they ain't got your booty πŸ‘ Dont wish your energy away, it only gives room for anxiety and lowering your confidence. Stay in your lane focus on your vision for yourself, play on your strengths and build on your weaknesses. On season vs off season πŸ’ƒπŸΌ The photo on the left was taken 1 week before the Ferrigno Legacy during my deplete (looking very flat πŸ˜‚) the photo on the right is me now during my off season. I've always placed a lot of pressure on myself whether it be on or off season to be my best, to work hard and succeed.

I know the look on the left is not for everyone and that's fine with me I love being shredded and pushing my body to its limits. I'll always strive for more and to be better but I am still bloody proud of myself for everything I have achieved and continue to achieve every day, every session, every set. My body is my work, my art.

In saying that I'm not perfect, I still have my days where I can be hard on myself. But I've learned to differentiate between two types of feedback we can give ourselves: ➑️Constructive Feedback
➑️Destructive Feedback

One sets our soul on fire πŸ”₯ keeps us motivated and driven and striving to be more or a better version of ourselves πŸ’ͺOne burns us πŸ€• brings us down, knocks our confidence and makes us feel less of a person πŸ‘ŽπŸ’” How can you expect to succeed or improve when your consistently being destructive to yourself?? πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Always strive to be a better version of you but dont just stand in the mirror and pick all the things you dont like. Decide what you want to achieve, ask yourself why? The most important thing I have ever gained from competing is learning what I am capable of πŸ–€πŸ§šπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ I know I can achieve anything I put my mind to. You learn your body inside and out, more importantly you learn your MIND. You learn to listen, to read, to understand what it needs and how to love and take care of this absolute gift we are all too ready to take for granted.

The empowerment of setting a goal and working every god damn day, pushing through every setback, striving through every struggle and relishing in every achievement or result πŸ”₯. The body is so complicated yet so simple ☝️ It just wants to be nourished and looked after, if you do, it will do and achieve anything you want it to. The key is your mind πŸ”‘ you have to first believe on every cellular level:

1. You are capable
2. You are good enough
3. You are g'DAMN worth it
I repeat these to myself every day, every set, every rep, every meal. Anything you want to do in life first starts with you, with your mind. You have to get your head in the game ⛹️‍♀️ The first thing I had to learn with competing is not to compare or worry about anyone else, be concerned only with the steps your taking πŸ‘£ Sure if you're in a team you obviously have to consider others too but first you need to believe that you are 1. 2. And 3. To be able to offer your strengths to the team.

You are in control of your mind not the other way around. It will give you the power you need to succeed but you first have to believe you are capable, you are good enough and G'DAMN worth it β€πŸŒˆπŸ‘ŠπŸ’ͺ

Home sweet home πŸ πŸ’• Cam and I have been house sitting for the last month. Sooo nice to have a change of scenery and change things up but MAN it's good to be home and to not be living out of a suitcase πŸ™ˆπŸ’Ό I take my hat off to you air hostess' out there and those who travel to work πŸ›«πŸ›¬ (@hollywards 😜) My coach @philynuku and I have changed up my food this last week increasing my calories πŸ˜‹ I felt my little "mini-shred" effecting my energy levels and recovery a little too much. I'm aiming to compete again soon (havent decided on my exact date yet) so I want to keep my energy high to maximize my intensity in the gym. My main goal is to grow as much as I can in key areas - booty (you can never have too much πŸ‘) hammies and shoulders.

And If I'm training at a high intensity I have to make sure I have enough energy and nutrients to; βœ” Fuel each session and promote strength
βœ” Look after recovery and ultimately growth 🀩πŸ’ͺ It's so easy to be emotionally attached to our weight but you have to look at the bigger picture of the goals you want to achieve. If it requires more food and maybe holding a little more weight. Ah well it will be worth it in the long term.
