Sunday August 6th
The barrio represents a collection of childhood memories, feels, smells, snacks, friends and family. The Barrio is full people that know every single one of your family members and ask you how they all doing. For us here at Patria it reminds us our our early 20's when both Cristina and Abel lived in NY. With that in mind Barrio Nights was born!! At some point you leave that place because college, work, life, or you have an adventurous soul. When you come back, your family makes sure everybody knows your on your way. What happens right after?
Everybody in El Barrio gathers as one to welcome you and that translate into lots of food, loud music, way to many drinks, endless talks, fond memories and last but not least the smiles of all the people. Eso es el barrio!
El Barrio isn't just a Pop-Up, its a celebration.
Join us as we kick it old school, a backyard type of block party where the music, drinks, food and dominoes will resemble that place we call home.
The Food: Will consist on traditional puertorrican fare.. MENU:
-Arroz blanco: White rice
-Habichuelas guisadas: Beans stew
-Pernil: Oven roasted pork shoulder
-Pollo Asado: roasted chicken
-Amarillos: Fried ripe plantains
-Aguacates: Avocados
Drinks: It will be a cash bar, simply kept
-Pina Colada con Ron: Piña Colada with rum made to order
- Cerveza: Beer in a solo cub
Music: Old school salsa music, it will be via turntable. If you have an old school salsa vinyl at your place and want to have bragging rights over chef’s vinyl selection, bring yours and lets see.
AND
Dominoes Tournament: We will do a small tournament and its included in the
entry price so bring a partner and lets see who reigns supreme. We have prices!!!

Happy Memorial Day, everyone. 12 DAYS OF NEGRONI continue with our friend Brian Quigley (@alberta_jam) of @CHESApdx who created a Negroni unlike one we've ever seen. All it took was a tiny bit of squid ink and a ton of imagination. What we end up with is a dark drink, with oil floating to the top that looks like the night sky.
Find this on the menu at the Social and during Negroni week at Chesa, but if you miss both of those opportunities, it'll also be served at @NostranaPDX and Chesa during October, 2017. ---October 2017---

Fermin Pork Cheek Risotto: 16-hour braised Iberico pork cheek, bomba rice, manchego cheese, arbequina olive oil

Pluma Iberica Yakitori: Josper-charred flank steak yakitori, soba noodles, miso-jamon daish, sous vide jadori egg
