After a long and rainy day I was craving soup and just like all roads lead to Rome, all roads led to Bangkok City.
I had a little buffet for one. My starter was a Shrimp Tempura hand roll 🍙🍤🥑 that did not make it onscreen, I was too busy eating. It did require both hands as it was generously filled with a blanched asparagus spear, a crispy shrimp tempura, avocado wedge and a drizzle of eel sauce and spicy mayo between rice and nori. It was delicious!
Next was a big bowl of wonton soup. I prefer Cantonese style, but this was good and it served its purpose. Veggies were nice and crunchy and broth was mild but flavorful. They use gyozas instead of won ton dumplings.
The chicken satay is an appetizer but 7 generously-sized chicken skewers work great as an entree. The have the cutest presentation with a little cast iron mini grill. The chicken is seasoned and cooked already, but you charr it on the stove and then dip in Peanut Sauce or Thai sweet and sour sauce. You can ask for a small bowl of rice to make it a meal. The benefit of the little grill is that your chicken will be hot off the grill. No more cold food! Also available with beef or pork.
