A good find in Kidapawan City.
This newly opened café in Brgy. Sudapin has a wide selection of coffee drinks — iced or hot, smoothies, and fruit juices. To pair with the drinks, they have cakes, pasta dishes, sandwiches and fries.
My friends and I tried a few of their dishes for dinner. We ordered seafood pasta, aglio e olio, spaghetti portuguese (although we were served with penne coz they ran out of spaghetti, which is not a problem for me coz I think it is the perfect pasta for the dish), spaghetti bolognese, fresh fries (potato wedges, breaded and herbed), grilled cheese, veggie salad with mayo and balsamic for dressing, and a slice each of chocolate mousse and blueberry cheesecake. For drinks, I had the blueberry pomegranate iced tea which is mildly sweet and my friends had the matcha milkshake, chocolate milkshake and lemon iced tea.
It was a feast! We loved everything, except for the bolognese coz it’s sour and less in flavor compared to the others.
But I highly recommend the seafood pasta and the portuguese. The portuguese btw is pasta with spanish sardines. They added chili flakes on their pasta dishes which added aroma and flavor. The aglio e olio is ranked next coz it’s well-seasoned and tasty despite the lack of protein.
The fresh (yes, fresh not french) fries also get my thumbs up coz it’s seasoned beautifully and it’s crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside.
The salad has lots of croutons and few lettuce but the mayo and balsamic surprisingly blend well.
The portions are quite small, good for only one person. Actually I wouldn’t be satisfied with just one serving. We ordered a lot and we shared everything. The toasted garlic breads (served with each pasta dish) and the grilled cheese filled the remaining empty spaces on my tummy.
This place is a café perfect for afternoon coffee/tea and snacks. They serve light meals (the pasta serving is small hence light) so don’t expect rice dishes.
The price is affordable, comparable with any other café in the region. But so far, they serve the best oil-based pastas I’ve tasted this side of the region.
I’m definitely going back real soon.
P.S. Not everything we ordered was pictured
