What a cool day in the Anza Borrego desert. Weaving our way through the hordes of elderly lining the roadsides, checking out every variety of flower, pollen clinging to their pleated khakis. Cafés lined with walkers and fields of pregnant women getting their pictures taken amongst the flora. When I was done people watching there sure was a lot of flowers blooming. Growing like mad amongst the usual residents of the Borrego desert. Cactus flowers shooting up in bright pink displays, like crowns on top of the spiked paddles. Desert lily wrapping around the Ocotillos. A dozen different varieties of yellow flowers, purple and white. Streams flowing over the typically dry washes, tourist barefoot, splashing along in the oasis. Everyone with camera in hand, hunched over, picturing the color all around their feet.
