On assignment: Authorities including the FBI Joint Terrorism Taskforce and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man accused of being a member of ISIS and murdering an Iraqi Police Officer in 2014. An arrest warrant was issued by the Iraqi government after a witness was able to identify Omar Abdulsattar Ameen as the shooter. On June 21st, 2014 the town of Rawah fell into ISIS control. The following evening, a convoy of ISIS fighters drove to the home of Officer Ihsan Abdulhafiz Jasim and opened fire. The officer was reportedly shot by Ameen in the chest. A social media account tied to ISIS later claimed responsibility in the killing. Federal authorities had been investigating Ameen for two years according to a criminal complaint. He is said to have entered the country under fraudulent conditions and is expected to be extradited to Iraq.
