So quick hop over and grab your chance to join us at the best conference of the year. And if you are not a student? Well, we still have some space left and attending the conference will be the highlight of your professional year (it doesn’t hurt that you can count CPD points for this too). Link to register is in our bio above.

If we want to end discrimination against LGBTIQ+ people, we can’t stop at marriage equality. We must keep going 🏳️‍🌈. Check out this great article by our deputy director on what more needs to be done in the aftermath of the postal survey ➡️

Today we are releasing our findings from an exhaustive investigation into the education of children with disability in Victoria's mainstream government schools. We uncovered many instances of schools discouraging enrolment, "babysitting" students and socially isolating them. But perhaps most importantly, we discovered that the government's hands-off approach to schools means that teachers get too little direction and schools are not held accountable for their mistakes. The current school autonomy model is likely to damage the government's ability to truly implement meaningful reform in this area. You can read a summary of the report - and download the full report itself - in the link. The Age has also run a story on its front page this morning. #disability #humanrights #education

This week we're launching or 2017 impact report so that you can see how we make a difference. Please read it, and #donate to help us continue to protect #humanrights. Go to

"Safe-access zones protect individuals from intrusions into privacy by strangers who seek to interfere in deeply personal decisions. They protect the rights to health-care services, the right of women to decide the number and spacing of their children, the right to security of person, as well as equality and freedom from cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment." - our deputy director Dr Tania Penovic.
