Day 3 of #octoberyogaspice is triangle pose. Trikonasana. Today has been a bit of a scattered day... I forgot my yoga mat, got a bit lost on campus..but thankfully, I still have my practice even if it's midnight and matless. :) I always have some alignment tweaking to do in this pose so it's always is a good reminder to let go a little and leave some room to grow. Day 2 of #OctoberYogaSpice is down dog. So soothing.. Great shoulder opener as well. I seem to always turn to down dog when I am in need of an energy boost and some back and shoulder love. Day one of the #octoberyogaspice challenge is child's pose. This pose is a sweet relief physically and emotionally. I'm grateful to have this pose kick off the challenge especially as I complete my first week of classes at Evergreen. Child's pose is highly recommended for anxiety and stress so it is a beautiful pose to turn to in moments like this one. Pose for day 3: Triangle pose. Amazing stretch for the legs and side body. Trikonasana is one of my favorites because it's such a mentally uplifting pose. Much needed peaceful rooftop practice this morning.. Moving is crazy but there is always yoga to ground me again. I've gotten a bit behind in the #basicyogamix challenge amidst the craziness but here we go! Virabadrasana A (warrior 1). A strong and empowering pose, vira 1 is great for stretching and strengthening the legs and ankles as well as good prep for backbends.
Thanks to @foxyathletics for the awesome clothes. These are my new favorite pants and they're great for acro, which is isn't always easy to find!

Sirsasana (traditional headstand) is such a sweet pose; great for high blood pressure, headache relief, anxiety, and digestion just to name a few. Headstand is also wonderfully restorative with lots of patience and practice. :) #chattanooga #meditation #yoga #invertdaily

Yoga constantly tells us to let go of our inhibitions and find our mental and physical edge and Adho mukha vrksasana (handstand) is such a fun reminder of where this can take us. Inverting regularly also helps to lower anxiety, relieve headaches, and help with depression. Now go find a wall and and/or spotter and give it a try!
