Lovely gift from @kymhughes58 homegrown, couldn't resist taking a photo.
I've had a lovely day, so pleased to be back carving with the nicest group of people I know. #cottageindustrypaddington

Carving club is now at The Paddington cottage workshop. I'm starting a Thursday night session too. Tuesdays are fully booked but there are some spaces for Thursdays left. DM me or email me if you're interested. Link to website in profile.
The beautiful Huon Pine bowl by Rob is looking lovely.

Pear wood ❤

A get-together with friends, thought we'd carve some spoons and we had a lovely lunch after. Loads of concentration here, what a beautiful day. ❤❤

Never underestimate the power of a gooseneck scraper. If you're looking for a smooth bowl it gives a better finish than sanding, it's still a cutting tool and leaves a clean, crisp, sealed finish. #cabinetscrapers

THE CRAFT PARLOUR on the Gold Coast still has a couple of places left for my spoon carving workshop on Sunday 28th January. This is such a beautiful space I can't wait to be back there again. Go to their link @the_craft_parlour #spooncarvingclass #craftparlour

Recreating a much-loved family spoon. I love the old one and how it's worn by years of cooking for a family. It's not the object that's important but the history contained within it. I hope my new White Beech one will hold stories one day.

I might regret this rush of nostalgia. Found these things whilst cleaning out my workshop cupboards. The Wood Review Article was from about 20 years ago I think, I remember being so proud to be asked. The photos for the article were taken by @bluecheak and the cover by Linda Nathan who were both incredibly supportive of me. @woodreview The other photos were a lot older 25 years or even older, predigital photography. I did a lot of reproduction pieces and a some one-off pieces too. Proportions all look wrong, but it's part of my history. I made furniture for a long time but then fell out of love with the process. The understanding of the material though, carries right through to the present day. My whole adult life has been about timber and learning to make things with it, I love it more than ever. Don't think I'll ever make furniture again, but carving has me smitten beyond belief. I dont regret those years of machines and joinery. #woodreview #history

Im back at the bench making a rice scoop. Here's one from earlier in the year in Silky Oak. I've been having a sort out. So many offcuts that I can't throw out.

Some Summer Reading. This is a beautiful book. #knife #timhaywood #cooking
