Home workouts have become a new part of my life lately & even though I love the gym- sometimes I only make it there 1-2x per week so I try to fit a home workout or two in as well! SWIPE ⏪
.
.
.
That being said, it's HARD for me to get my a$s motivated to move at home- I always get distracted or find other things to do- so when I do workout at home I try to pick 6 or so exercises prior to starting that I COMMIT to doing 3 sets of 12. Otherwise I get through like 3 rounds of 2 exercises & I move into something else(such as making food, cleaning, responding to emails, sitting down & watching tv or playing with Dax) ANYWAYS. If you are like me & get distracted easily, or find it hard to motivate yourself at home I definitely recommend writing down your workout or picking 4-8 exercises you know you can commit to getting done! & then throw on a sports bra & some shoes, grab a pair of DB's & get it done before you can find an excuse not to! 🤗 .
.
.
Here are some clips from a workout I did pre-Mexico :( I have been horrible at posting things in a timely manner lately - my apologies- I blame @babydax_ 😂 .
.
.
3x12 of the below exercises:
1. DB lunges
2. DB straight legged deadlift to overhead press
3. DB squat to shoulder press
4. Squat jump to upright DB row
5. Single leg DB deadlift
6. Timeout to play with Bella, or baby .
.
.
Do you struggle to fit exercise in? Comment why you think that is below! & pls no judging my amazing singing in the background 😂 .

8 Months in🤰🏼 ----> 5 Months Out 👶🏼 I never could have imagined a love quite like this ! 💕 Even while pregnant, I thought I loved the little human growing in my belly - but WOW the amount of love I have for this little boy is UNREAL!!! I swear it continues to get stronger & more powerful every single day, & just when I thought I was at max love capacity I fall in love some more 😩 .
.
Any other mamas feel like their love just never stops growing at infinite amounts for their little? 👶🏼

Happy Birthday to my husband, best friend, baby daddy & love of my lifeeeeee!! Thanks for being born because Dax & I couldn't imagine our lives without you 💕🎉 🎈 .
.
We're currently headed to a family brunch & then to the mall to take Daniel shopping - because shopping is his favourite 💁🏼 hope you all have the loveliest of Sundays ! 🤗😘

The many faces of @babydax_ 👶🏼 Trying to capture a pic of this little guy smiling is SUCH a struggle!! Still can't believe this little guy is 5 months old 😩 Happy Saturday Friends!! 😘

My baby boy is 5 MONTHS OLD today.
Which means he is almost 6 months, which is half a year😩 howww does time seem to keep just flying by?! .
.
I heard a quote & wanted to share- 'The days are long, but the years are short'. Yes some days are hard & seem like they drag on forever, but we're already at 5 months! I know this year is going to fly by. Which reminds me to be PRESENT each & every day, to soak up every minute & appreciate all of the time I get to spend with this little human because before I know it he's going to be grown. 💕👶🏼
.
.
In the last week I feel like he has changed SO much. He is rolling over with ease, chatting up a storm, showing so much interest in food, grabbing everyone's face, hanging out in his activity centre for longer periods & actually understanding what all of the little toys do. It is just crazy how all of a sudden after that last leap he has so many new abilities! Am I the only one who finds milestones so bittersweet ?! Knowing every new thing they do means they're getting older😩
.
.
What's something new your babes are doing this week?

Did you know weight training & exercising during pregnancy creates a healthier environment for you and your growing baby? Not only has exercise been found to decrease your chances of developing pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, poor circulation & unhealthy weight gain, it has also been found to influence & benefit the way your growing baby's nervous system and heart develops! WIN WIN FOR MOM & BABY! 🎉 🤰🏼 👶🏼 .
.
So although I am not pregnant anymore(at least not that I know of😂) I know I still have a lot of preggo mamas following me based on my DM's & I wanted to encourage all you mamas to continue moving that bump throughout your pregnancies, or future pregnancies! .
.
As new research continues to prove exercising at moderate and high intensities is SAFE & BENEFICIAL for mom & baby! So unless you have any absolute contraindications, you can pretty much continue to workout the exact same way you did pre-pregnancy(intensity & all) with just the slightest modifications as your pregnancy progresses! .
.
This means you can run, sprint, lift heavy weights, jump up and down, do HIIT cardio, walk, jog, do yoga , go swimming etc etc. If that's what your body was used to pre-pregnancy.
.
.
SO pls don't believe the old school limiting beliefs encouraging women to do nothing throughout their pregnancies... unless you have a medical contraindication , I encourage you to get that bump moving!! 🤰🏼 .
.
Mamas, I'm curious did you workout throughout your pregnancy? If so did you receive any backlash? 📸 @ramirez.creative.photography

Happy Monday! We are now back home from the most amazing week in Los Cabos, & our first vacay as a little family! ✈️ 🌴👪 .
.
I was unsure what a vacation with a baby would be like, but it exceeded my expectations! It was so much fun hanging on the beach & splashing around in the pool with baby boy. Dax was the BEST little traveller & It has honestly made me want to travel with him as much as we can before he becomes mobile & cray like all the toddlers on our flight 😂 .
.
If you are able, I HIGHLY suggest taking a vacay! It allowed me & Daniel to spend some much needed quality time together, as well as provide time for Daniel & Dax to really bond! 🤗 .
.
PS I just uploaded the accident prevention video to YouTube where I discuss the heartbreaking story that encouraged me to take my CPR & AED, as well as various tips & tricks I learned to help keep our babies safe! Link in bio 💕

This baby boy brings me so much joy & LOVE! Prior to baby boy coming earth side I never could have imagined a love like this! 🤗 Forever thankful & grateful for him blessing me with his presence & changing my whole world in an instant! 🌎 .
.
Any other mamas still taken a back sometimes when they think about the infinite amount of love they have for their babies? 😩I still can't believe most times. .

Pic from our family dinner date the other night 🇲🇽 tried to match my lips with my burn 💁🏼

Fun in the sun☀️with little Daxton!! 🤗💕🥂

Happy Friday ! 💕Yesterday Daniel & I realized that Wednesday night was our first date night since @babydax_ was born 4.5 months ago. Daniel has left Dax for long periods of time, but I haven't left baby boy for longer than an hour/two to go to the gym 🤦🏼‍♀️ .
.
Needless to say having that 4.5 hours alone together was AMAZING & a MUCH needed break! We went for dinner, played basketball 🏀 & then went to the club at the resort for a little bit & we had so much fun!!! It made us realize how important it is to take that time away from baby to allow ourselves to have some quality time together to connect & not have it be all about baby for a little bit!

Family Dinner Dates 🤗

Today I got a notification that baby boy is 20 weeks old , which means I'm now 20 weeks Postpartum & I felt that deserved a little postpartum body update for you all. .
.
The photo on the left was taken the day I delivered baby Dax, & the photo on the right was taken this morning. Since delivering baby boy I have lost 50 lbs & I keep getting asked about what I have done to lose the weight postpartum, so here is the truth: .
.
My entire pregnancy I promised myself that I would NOT rush or begin dieting postpartum. I promised to give my body TIME to heal & adjust from carrying a baby for 38.5 weeks. I promised to LOVE my body for the miracle baby it created instead of hating it for the changes it made in order to grow & nurture my baby boy. I promised to FEED my body with nutrient dense foods postpartum in order to continue growing & nurturing my baby through my milk supply. & I have yet to diet or implement a strict training regime. I am however eating intuitively & feeding my body nutrient dense foods. I also exercise 3-4x per week for less than an hour to promote physical and mental health & well-being. .
.So the real secret to how I have lost this weight is that I haven't been trying very hard at all. I LOVE & RESPECT my body & I choose to nurture my body, rather than trying to hate my way 'skinny'. I am SO proud & appreciative of my body for creating my baby boy & I am not making choices based on weight loss, but instead for living my best, healthiest & happiest life. .
.
So my advice for all you mamas trying to lose weight PP would be to just LOVE yourself & your body . BE PATIENT! Make choices each day that will help you be the healthiest & happiest mama you can be ! & don't rush the postpartum weight loss process & NEVER compare yourself to others. We are all SOO different & our bodies all adjust at different rates PP! You're beautiful mama & you created a perfect, beautiful little human who needs you to appreciate your body for the miracle it created 💕
