If you could, what works would you steal from an art fair? During the opening of @artdubai 2018 and in collaboration with @piaget, Canvas asked exactly that question to a select group of collectors for a Thomas Crown series of videos. Meet @jafardajani_official and learn more.

Today is the official opening of @artdubai 2018. Take a tour of the contemporary halls with us and stay tuned for more highlights.

On the occasion of @operagallery's 10th anniversary, Spanish NYC-based painter and sculptor @manolovaldes is exhibiting five of his monumental sculptures "Clio Dorada", "Mariposas", "La Mariposa", "La Diadem" and "Butterflies" around @difc’s Gate Avenue and Emirates Towers for one year, alongside a solo show of smaller works inside the gallery (running until 14 April). We met with Valdés to find out more about his art, ranging from paintings during the 1960s and 70s with the politically-oriented art collective Equipo Crónica under the Franco dictatorship to his minimalist sculptures recently exhibited in Paris, Valencia and Singapore. Be sure to check out the artist’s diverse body of work during Dubai's March Madness.

Only six more days until the opening of "Close-up" @thethirdlinegallery, a solo show of recent hand-embroidered works by Iranian artist Farhad Moshiri. Referencing Eastern contemporary popular culture and Western influences, his works merge the real and imagined and, for the first time ever, Moshiri uses his own photographs as subject matter. The exhibition runs from 19 March – 14 April. Stay tuned on our channel to see more of his works.
