Morning tea out in the paddocks |
It has been a busy week here at Cambray Cheese with hay preparation underway. It is a key time of year for most farmers. It is essentially a way to preserve the nutrients in the grass that we then feed back to our sheep when there is minimal feed in the paddock over a long summer. It is important for us to get this right, to keep our fussy ewes happy and keep producing quality delicious tasting milk! .

The Chef Of The Year plates up dishes you talk about for days, weeks and months after eating it. It is destination food. It is clever food that uses well-sourced produce. The Chef Of The Year is unafraid of simplicity, preferring minimal intervention – letting “the produce speak for itself” as they say. Our Chef Of The Year for 2017 embodies all these things. The West Australian Good Food Guide Chef Of The Year, presented by @winningappliances is Guy Jeffreys from @millbrook.winery. #wagoodfoodguide #wagoodfood #millbrookwinery #guyjeffreys #chef

If you haven't done so already get yourself to @smalls.bar stat, Eaton's newest bar! @chefluke.wakefield and the team are smashing out some seriously special dishes, including this delicious rocket/nashi pear/pecan salad with a generous serving of our 3 year old Manchego. These guys are supporting so many local producers, well worth a visit!

Last day of the Perth Royal Show today! We have had a great week showcasing our products to the people of Perth and we hope you have all enjoyed getting to know our cheeses 😃

Find us today at Perth Upmarket! We will be selling a range of our cheeses including some soft sheep cheeses. Our cheesemaker Tom will be there so come down and say hi, it's on until 4pm 😊

After a busy few months of lambing things are finally starting to quiet down at the farm and we are back today at Farmers Market on Manning! We will also be at Perth Upmarket tomorrow at UWA.

As usual we will be at Margaret River Farmers Market this morning, or pop into our farm shop on Vasse Highway between Busselton & Nannup! All our soft sheep cheeses are now available as well.

Cutting the Curd | Sheep Milk

Sheep milk season is now well underway for 2017. This curd is being cut to make our Farmhouse Gold, which will be aged and ready for sale at its prime age in early 2019. Patience is a virtue when it comes to cheese making 😉

Camembert as far as the eye can see!
We are making some serious amounts of Camembert this week in preparation for some big events we have coming up in September.

Spot the 3 little lambs keeping warm on this cold morning. Their mum is not far away, keeping an eye on them whilst she takes advantage of the sun before the rain hits again to graze on the pasture ❄☉
