Gimmelwald- a small village in the mountains that can only be reached by cable cart. A place that has a population of 130, almost all are farmers. No school. No grocery store. Little cell service. A place where the people have lived there for generations and sell their cheese out of coolers. A place where chain hotels and restaurants are banned. Where there’s only one hostel, owned by an old couple who play the piano at night and wake up early to make everyone breakfast. A place that looks like a postcard no matter which way you look.
If I were to recommend anyone a place to travel to in Europe it would be this village.
