Description of Project: Nesting the Arts Project (NAP) is a unique initiative created by BxArts Factory to nurture the use of art at home. We’ve seen the impact of the Arts, its influence on creativity, empowerment, development of confidence and unification between generations. It's also known to improve communication and emotional connection among family members. Through a series of workshops we will bring parents and children together to create art. Our hope for the program is to spark parent’s desire to nest the arts as part of their parenting legacy.

A year in the making! We are so excited to announce our upcoming art exhibition Reflections: Celebrating 50 Years of the West Indian American Day Carnival. This exhibition was curated by Advisory Committee Member, Erin Hylton and in collaboration with The Montefiore Fine Art Program and Collection and Pepe Coronado Studio and print Projects
Artists: Trevon Blondet, Ijeoma D. Iheanacho, Jonathan Joseph, Omesh Persaud and Harri Indio Ramkishun each take on a sub-theme of inspiration from the West Indian community. Together the photographs share the energy and strength of the West Indian population and the groups influence to the political, economic and cultural vitality of the North Bronx. Opening Reception: Thursday, July 13th, 6 to 8 pm, at Montefiore Medical Center, 111 East 210th Street, Bronx NY.

"Quick trip to the storage unit to get ready for tomorrow's Boogie on the Boulevard! I missed the Northside festival this year due to a conflict in my schedule, but they'll be out on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx starting at 11 am near the Bronx Museum with @bxartsfactory and @photos_by_ignacio_soltero . Hope to see you there!"

BxArts Factory presents the first ever #WhatsMyArt Exhibition during Boogie on the Boulevard!
Come on by to our Street Gallery on the Arts Block (Grand Concourse between 165th and 164th streets) and see the work of photographer Trevon Blondet. This exhibition will be on display on every Boogie on the Boulevard: June 25, July 23, August 20 & September 10 from 12 to 4 pm

About the Project:
#WhatsMyArt is an initiative created by BxArts Factory and Trevon Blondet to connect artists and community members so we can Unlock the Artists within them. It is also a way to bring consciousness to art as an essential tool in our lives. We believe there is art in everything we do. We strongly work to Bring Art to Every Household in The Bronx through a series of community projects, workshops and events. These photos serve as documentation of the wonderful creative spirits that call The Bronx their homes and a testimony to the desire of being heard and owning our narrative. They capture how the Bronx community experience Art in their lives
#WhatsMyArt project was made possible in collaboration with BxArts Factory during Boogie on The Boulevard. This summer festival is part of the Weekend Walks events sponsored by the NYC Department of Transportation and the Department of Health.

The Street Gallery project as well as all the art activities at the Arts Block during Boogie on the Boulevard, are made possible through the Grant Our Street & Spaces. This grant was awarded to BxArts Factory this year thanks to the Building Healthy Communities initiative through the Fund for Public Health in New York City and was funded by the New York State Health Foundation.
