New week, new opportunities, new MEAL PREP! ๐Ÿด One question I always get asked a lot during any of my contest preps is โ€œWhat do you eat to lose weight?โ€ ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Well this is EVERYTHING Iโ€™m currently eating!

Chicken, sweet potatoes, red potatoes, jasmine rice, oats, egg whites, ground turkey, avocados, peanut butter and veggies! ๐Ÿ—
.
However, there are no certain foods that you MUST eat in order to lose weight! If you look at those foods more in depth, youโ€™ll see Iโ€™m eating a couple protein sources, couple carb sources as well as two fat sources! ๐Ÿฅ‘
.
Itโ€™s not really about what specific food youโ€™re eating, itโ€™s about HOW MUCH and whether youโ€™re in a caloric deficit or not. (Burning more calories than youโ€™re ingesting) ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
.
For example, if you donโ€™t like potatoes or egg whites, DONโ€™T EAT them! Eat something you would enjoy such as fish or quinoa. The fish would be one of your protein sources while the quinoa would be a carb source.
.
Regardless of what foods youโ€™re eating, if you want to lose weight, youโ€™ll have to be burning more calories than youโ€™re eating! This is where cardio and weight training come into play! ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿ• POSTWORKOUT NUTRITION! ๐Ÿ• How important is it? What should I eat?

In regards to that first question, postworkout nutrition is important! ๐Ÿด After your workout, your body is in a state where itโ€™s seeking nutrients in order to rebuild its glycogen stores and repair/regrow those muscle proteins.

Eating the right nutrients soon after your exercise can help your body get this done faster. Which is why I suggest a protein and carb source after your workout. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

During my offseason when Iโ€™m packing down food and always looking for ways to increase my caloric intake, Iโ€™ll ALWAYS drink a protein shake with a quick digesting carb powder! ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ @mtsnutrition MTS Machine Whey Protein stacked with MTS Carb 10!

However when Iโ€™m dieting for a show, my calories are much more restricted. So rather than drinking that protein and carb shake in 20 seconds, I choose to eat whole food! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ
