Birkenhead Sixth Form College  The UK 'Sixth Form College of the Year 2018'. Best for A Levels in Wirral according to GOV.UK league tables. Ofsted Outstanding in all areas.

January is ‘Get Organised Month’ which makes it the ideal time for you to perfect revision techniques and get prepared for mock exams and final exams (less than six months away!). ‘Study Skills: Maximise Your Time to Pass Exams’ by John Kennedy is available to borrow from the HUB along with lots more information on how to organise your time. #getorganised #bookoftheweek

Former students wanting to collect exam certificates from 2018 exams have until Friday 18th January 2019 to do so. If unable to come in person, you may give a letter of authority to a nominated person who should bring photographic ID with them for collection.

What a great job our Student Ambassadors did putting on an extremely amusing production of Annie without any staff input at all - and they’re novice actors too. Raised money for charity while they were at it. Well done, team!

Best of luck to the College’s Bar Mock Team of future lawyers tomorrow! They’re performing as barristers in the regional final of the National Young Citizens Bar Mock Trial competition, acting out fictional cases but in real court rooms in front of real judges at Chester Crown Court. #barmocktrial #lawyers

Tutor Jen, the College’s designated Mental Health Lead, and Assistant Head Student Natalie, who represents the student body on wellbeing, posed the question of what advice you would give to a friend who’s struggling with their mental health. The responses this lunchtime were thoughtful, positive and extremely powerful. #worldmentalhealthday

On the day of the current government’s Party Conference, students have been voting in the ‘Make Your Mark’ campaign where young people tell the UK Youth Parliament about the issues that matter to them most and what they should be focusing upon next year. Thankfully, unlike the Conservative Party Conference, no one at the College has been on stage dancing to ‘Dancing Queen’.

Our Student Ambassadors are chosen to represent us both inside and outside College, and that includes having their faces on the sides of buses!

If ever there’s a day to have cake for breakfast! Come and join us for a breakfast (not just cake!) and celebrate all your hard work.

Look out for some familiar faces from the College on BBC Breakfast tomorrow morning! Students have been chatting to the BBC reporters this afternoon in the build up to Results Day and there’ll be live updates from the College throughout the morning’s show.

Thanks to @theyoghut for helping with the filming location this afternoon (and the lovely snacks!). #alevelresultsday #resultsday #alevels

What a brilliant two days it’s been for our Freshers’ Days. Huge thanks to the hundreds of new students who came to experience College life before September – we really hope you enjoyed it and that you have a great summer. A special thanks too to our team of Student Ambassadors who have done such a fantastic job showing people around and helping everyone settle in. They’re a superb, hard-working, characterful group who are a real credit to the whole College.

We’re looking forward to welcoming our new students for their Freshers’ Days on Thursday and Friday. It’s the perfect chance to get the taste of College life before starting in September: trying out their choice of subjects, meeting their teachers and making new friends. Exciting times! #collegelife #freshers #alevels
