What an absolute PLEASURE it has been hosting this group of young ladies and Mrs. Teri for the #DNOWone weekend!! I have been so impressed by the maturity and kindness of these girls! I tell you, they KNOW who they are in Christ. ✝️ What a blessing it is to have such a wonderful church that places such a huge emphasis on children and students. I loved picking their brains about the pressures they face today and how they handle themselves. Gunner has official fangirls!! He's loved being the center of attention and doted on by these sweet gals! @bpstudents #gunnerrunnerga @mybpbc #dnowone #dnowsouthhall #DNOWone

The first of the rafters have gone up in the Master bedroom! It's looks slightly cabin-esk at the moment, however all of the ceilings, including rafters will be painted the perfect bright white, Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore. The next picture is the actual color our bedroom will be painted. It's the perfect barely blue color (even though it's called Seattle Gray.-BM). The next picture is of the chandelier that will be in our master!! Seriously, never thought I'd forego a ceiling fan but man, I had my heart set on something gorgeous and this was THE one! I finally decided that I needed a professional to help me out. I've made tons of decisions on my own and know pretty much what I want. However, I was starting to question if it would all go together. That's why I called @maggiegriffindesign ! She's been such a great person to bounce my ideas off of and frankly to assure me that it will all be cohesive! I told her I wanted a chandy in my master and she found this one! I adore it! It brings softness and femininity with the wooden beads but not too much. @toddwreed #thefergusonsbuildahouse

Waiting on our DNOW girls! We have the pleasure of hosting 11 teenage girls for the weekend! Not only are they being fed the WORD, we're gunna feed them yummy treats all weekend long! This is their "midnight" snack. They've been at the church since 6 taking part in DNOW sessions and are on their way here (9:30) to spend the night! I found the cutest idea on Pinterest...a Brownie Bar! Find adorable paper-goods from Target! Make brownies, use a biscuit cutter to cut circular shapes, top with ice cream. They can choose chocolate or caramel (or both) sauce. Toppings are mini chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, pecan pieces and coconut! Wish I was a teenager and could "stomach" this at 10 pm! @bpstudents #DNOWone

= S H I P L A P = everywhere...dreams are coming true 💫From the moment you walk into our open concept house, you will see LOTS of shiplap. You'll notice all of the imperfections and knots under the paint. Totally wanted that look! I choose the perfect white...Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore as the color you see everywhere when you walk in! Never knew that white paint was so difficult to choose! ⚪️I got samples of BM "Simply White" (way too yellow to me but a super warm white if you want a soft white), BM White (sharp, crisp but with a little too much blue in it) and Chantilly Lace (straightforward crisp white, not sterile at all) and painted them in different areas of the house with different light. That's how I knew the exact color I wanted! The first picture is of the living/dining room combo that flows right into the kitchen. Second pic is facing the opposite side of the room. A little office will be in the little nook (built in cabinets will be painted Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore 🙌🏼) with barn doors on each side. The next pic is the hallway to the master (just the one wall will be shiplap), the next pic is the accent wall in our master (this room, including shiplap will be painted the palest of blues, it's actually called Seattle Gray by Benjamin Moore), and then the last pic is in our master bath that will also have the one accent wall painted white (with a BLACK tub in front of it!!). This house is taking shape and we are finally starting to see all of these decisions we've had to made come to life!! @toddwreed #thefergusonsbuildahouse (use the new scroll feature to see multiple photos here on IG)

Haha-been so long since I've done an instastory , I've forgotten how! Oh well! This was my first exercise in quite awhile. This house has officially "taken over" and I've literally spent all of my time making decisions for the build! I just got out of bed two days ago from having the awful crud that's been going around! I couldn't take it anymore and had to go for a walk. Don't think I was quite ready though -after recording this perfectly serene video I started coughing so much -like you'd think I was hacking up a lung coughing 😰. I was making plans on what to say when I called 9/11 🚑🚑🚑

Public service announcement 🗣🤧😷🤒🤕🤢(sorry, I offended all the babies 👶🏻🤦🏻‍♀️).

We have sheetrock! Here's a peek at the master bedroom! As you enter the room, you will see the main wall that will be accented with shiplap! Right off of the master, you will see the future screened on porch)! @toddwreed #thefergusonsbuildahouse

"The Survivors Tree

A Callery pear tree became known as the "Survivor Tree" after enduring the September 11, 2001 terror attacks at the World Trade Center. In October 2001, the tree was discovered at Ground Zero severely damaged, with snapped roots and burned and broken branches. The tree was removed from the rubble and placed in the care of the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. After its recovery and rehabilitation, the tree was returned to the Memorial in 2010. New, smooth limbs extended from the gnarled stumps, creating a visible demarcation between the tree’s past and present. Today, the tree stands as a living reminder of resilience, survival and rebirth." @911memorial

He stopped in the middle of his day, his workout, to remember. Was he there paying respects to ALL of those that died that day? Did HE lose someone that day?? Was he THERE that day? I wondered but didn't dare ask, this moment was private to him. I couldn't miss capturing it though. It says so much. @911memorial #911memorial

"The Memorial’s twin reflecting pools are each nearly an acre in size and feature the largest manmade waterfalls in North America. The pools sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood. Architect Michael Arad and landscape architect Peter Walker created the Memorial design selected from a global design competition that included more than 5,200 entries from 63 nations.
The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into bronze panels edging the Memorial pools, a powerful reminder of the largest loss of life resulting from a foreign attack on American soil and the greatest single loss of rescue personnel in American history." @911memorial
