In a touching moment not covered until now by yours truly, when leaving the Grammys last Sunday Blue Ivy Carter made sure her father JAY-Z was wearing a white rose in support of the #TimesUp movement.
In conversation with Van Jones the previous morning, Hov had said that the #MeToo movement "had to happen for the world to purge itself. It's like racism, it existed the whole time … It's almost like we normalized it. There was a normalization of the things women have to do to survive … things needed to be uncovered for the world to correct itself." He expressed sympathy for women who face abuse in the workplace, home, and general life every day, and hopes that the world can now change course.
Speaking on his firstborn, the father of three explained how "she's special. She's someone who's definitely been here before. Everyone says that about her. She's so intuitive to her feelings and how other people feel." #jayz #blueivy @vegas_jones @j_corden 📸 @polkimaging
