Love gets involved..I was a little reluctant to post these images because they are images of people at their lowest..humanity broken, lost & hurting on the streets of this beautiful city of San Francisco .. Old,young, men, women, children ...it’s a devastating sight... I have not been more impacted in my life than in the last 8 months of moving here...people stand & stare, walk past not knowing a solution, companies throw money to try fix it, organizations trying to change it...some say it’s getting better based on what the news wants you to hear, but my friend said to me the other day from the UK.. “he has been coming every year for the past five years & it seems worse every time he comes”. In just this past few weeks I personally witness & jumped into a situation where there was three grown men beating up a woman, they were dragging her, kicking her, spitting on her. She was screaming & I heard from across the street...ran across the road & begin to shout at them “leave her alone, get off her”. They were stunned & stopped, staring at me they yelled abuse at me & then her saying “she’s a crack head, a dumb black a#% bit#%”. To which I replied “she’s human, she’s a woman, so back away from her now”. (I mean i had no idea what could have eventuated, it could have got real bad) but somehow there was a peace over the whole situation the minute I opened my mouth. Maybe there was angels these guys saw behind me... one guy looks at me and says “your right, I’m sorry” and then walks off quietly and whimpishly like a dog with tail between its legs & the other two followed, one muttering under his breath profanities. The lady ran off away from the guys, I was left standing on the street corner thinking “what in the world just happened” I think it was that Love got involved, compassion isn’t compassion unless there is action...time for the church to rise, wake up, get involved ..the problem is spiritual! The answer is Jesus..if you look at the last few pics of this post...there is a man named Focuz...he was homeless, he was on the street but in October when we launched services in @hillsong_sf he walked in..saved, baptized, job, off the street, in community. This is Jesus!
