Looking at these photos makes me happy. Yes, that girl on the left is super lean, has a six pack, and gets a lot of attention for being "fit". The girl on the right is happy, healthy, strong, confident, has a great relationship with food, never binges, has realistic expectations of her body, doesn't obsess over food, doesn't spend three hours a day in the gym (working out)...I could go on and on. -
That girl on the left is strong, mentally and physically. -
I have worked so hard at loving this body of mine. Through all phases. If you don't find sustainability throughout this fitness journey, you fall victim to trends and fads. My goal is longevity. How can I keep this up for the next fifty years? By obsessing over my food? Detoxes? Restrictive diets? Cleanses? Hours of mindless cardio? Tracking every single piece of food that goes into my mouth? Hell no! None of that makes me happy, and none of that works! It is NOT SUSTAINABLE. Find what works for you, and make sure you are enjoying it. It's so much more fun to love what you are doing. -
Left photo: 2014 150 lbs
Right photo: 2017 162 lbs (proud of the extra two, so I gotta put it in there)
Six packs are overrated.
Let's focus on loving our bodies and being happy. ❤
