They used to say that everyone admires an expert, and we at Gourmet House have watched awe-struck over recent months as skilled professionals have remodeled the new home for Brasserie 9. They’ve applied their expertise to a large but ordinary-seeming townhouse in the heart of the city, miraculously restoring its former splendor. Now, in a tree-lined enclave, it stands proudly again as a grand timbered residence from the era of Rama V, with welcoming terraces and spacious, airy rooms.
The builders and other craftspeople have done a great job, but we must admit we feel a sense of relief as they depart. That’s because, from the official opening on 1 December, our own experts - the Chefs who create classic French cuisine with contemporary flair - have free rein once more. And as our guests choose from the three to seven courses on the set dinner, or from the à la carte menu with Steak Flambé and Crêpes Suzettes cooked at table side, one thing is certain. They are making their selections in a setting of perfect elegance and luxurious, old-style ease.

Culinary experts will tell you that Rack of Lamb, one of the most special of all prime cuts, is often enjoyed at its best when served in a crust. As their special dish for December, Al Saray Restaurants have come up with a truly authentic crust in Lamb Rack with Muhamara Walnut Crust.
The rack of lamb is marinated in black pepper and olive oil with a little salt, then grilled on both sides and brushed with mustard. Finally, the all-important touch of Al Saray is added, as the freshly-made walnut Muhamarra is spread over the tangy ribs to create a gorgeous crust. The recommended accompanying drinks are Lebanese Red Wine at Silom, and Grape Juice at Soonvijai. You won’t need to be an expert to recognize that you’re enjoying premium Lebanese cuisine!
