Our s62 swapped e34 project car is completely finished and on its way to the owner in Texas!
We put a 2001 s62 from an e39 M5 into this Dinan 540i, using the original MSS62 ECU with full OBD2 and CAN bus integration. Equal length long tube headers, AlphaN tuning, and 93 octane helped us achieve 380whp, which is more than enough to overwhelm the 285 width Michelin PS4 tires... We worked to use as many factory parts as possible to make future servicing easier. The original 6 speed transmission was hooked to the new powerplant with only some minor modifications for the crank sensor, and the original differential assembly was swapped to an e46 M3 3.64lsd. The Dinan Fikse wheels were rebuilt from 17x8 to 18x9 and 18x10.5 and wrapped with the aforementioned Michelins to help cope with the extra performance.
Sad to see it go, but we’re glad the new owner is so happy with how it turned out.
