So many people have asked what our daily rhythm is and I thought I would share a little snippet of our daily routine, that of course can change due to life around us, but generally this is how we do homeschooling.. read on if your interested or keep scrolling if you don’t want to read my long post , but hey I would love it if you share with me your routine ! I would love to hear it and you never know it could really help someone who is considering homeschooling ... so here goes
8:00- Breakfast ; everyone helps each other to get prepared for breakfast then we sit together and then our morning bible reading/ history and culture studies begin, while we read they can draw what they hear. This morning time brings out so many points of discussion.
once finished we all clear the table , boys make beds and clean their rooms , then they can have free play for 1/2 hour, while we get breakfast cleaned up and Alby dressed and changed.
Chris and I would then split up , he takes the two older boys and does maths, while I occupy the two boys with a game or puzzle.
Once older boys are finished with maths they have free play for another half hour, sometimes they like to help me with house work or cooking.
Just before lunch we go and read a book outside, and then they need to read their readers .
Lunch we all eat together, and talk about the things they remember from morning classes.
After some lunch I take the two older boys and do English with them, while chris takes the two little ones to play or feed the chickens and tends to the gardens. Once English is done they do music practice then free play for rest of the day .
This is pretty standard day but the beauty of homeschooling is that it still has the flexibility to change as somedays we could be out bushwalking most of the day, or down at the beach climbing rocks, but they would still be learning along the way eg, taking a book to read in the car and general discussions about life !
So there it is a general day for us at home , we are still babies at homeschooling so we are still working it all out and no experts but here is us right now 💛
